Laser Assisted Liposuction

Excess fat accumulates in many areas of the body. Even if you eat right and exercise, these fat deposits do not always disappear. Many people become discouraged that their shape does not improve despite rigorous exercise programs. Others find no time in their busy lifestyle for regular exercise or proper diet.

While it is not a replacement for good eating habits and exercise, liposuction surgically optimizes body contour by selectively removing unwanted fat and unsightly bulges, and by permanently removing excess collections of fat cells. These fat deposits may occur anywhere in the body - knees, hips, thighs, abdomen, arms, neck or face.

Laser liposuction is the procedure in which a specifically targeted laser scans the exterior of the body in the area from which fat will be removed. A small incision (1/4") is made and the liquid fat is then permanently removed. With laser assisted liposuction, recovery is very fast. The procedure is performed in the privacy and comfort of our onsite operating suite. Patients are able to return home about one hour after the procedure, and can return to work and social activities in just a few days and are usually exercising within one week.

Compared to the standard tumescent technique, in which fat is scraped from the skin and underlying tissue, laser liposuction allows the body to heal more quickly. Bruising is less, swelling is less, allowing a quick return to work and activities. With standard liposuction techniques, a compression garment is usually worn postoperatively for 6 to 8 weeks. With laser liposuction, the garment is worn for only 4 days.

Laser liposuction can be performed on all parts of the body.
